A new US-based site called Curvio acts as a searchable online database of the clothing used in television shows and movies, enabling fans to style-stalk their favourite characters.
Curvio launched last month with the goal of “organising entertainment fashion in all forms of media”.
“As TV and movie lovers ourselves, we wanted to help people everywhere better connect to their favourite characters,” Curvio says on its site.
“One issue we often found was that we would see an item on TV and really wish we could buy it. It turned out a lot of other people had this problem too, so we started Curvio.”
“Our team works hard to index all your favourite shows so you can find and buy anything that may catch your eye while watching.”
Currently, the service is available for four TV shows: Gossip Girl, Criminal Minds, Pretty Little Liars and Glee.
Given consumers’ obsessions with celebrities, and the characters they play, this sort of service looks likely to attract a strong following, similar to the success enjoyed by ASOS in the UK.
While the clothing angle might be covered, perhaps there are other TV-aired items you could direct consumers to?
