Hotel chain Ibis is installing robotic artists in various rooms at its London, Paris and Berlin hotels as part of a “sleep art” project.
Up to 40 guests will sleep on beds equipped with 80 sensors that transmit data on movement, sound and temperature to a Rembrandt robot with a paintbrush.
The robot will then turn this information into colour and movement, creating one-of-a-kind paintings.
“Our masterpiece is to make your sleep a true work of art,” the promotional video says.
While we’re not suggesting you create artwork based on people’s sleep patterns, this project does highlight the increasing interest in unconventional art forms.
If you have a flair for design, perhaps you can draw some inspiration from Ibis and launch your own creative project.
