Dear Aunty B,

I listened to the webinar yesterday with Verne Harnish (thanks) and he talked about having Big Hairy Audacious Goals. We have “Moon Goals” as in we are going to the…The trouble is we forget about them. Every day is soooo busy. When I ask my staff about the goals, they just mumble stuff like we’re doing our best. They are a great team and I don’t feel like I can put any extra pressure on them.

PF,

Dear PF,

Totally understand. And if I have to jam-pack one more thing into my day you will hear my screams on the moon. But goals you must set. And it is good for staff for you to share them. Write them up on a big whiteboard and talk about them every day. Incorporate them into your culture and everyday communications. When they talk about being too busy, peel off one of the goals and develop a plan around it to push those numbers.

Reward yourself and your team in a big way when the numbers are achieved. You’ll get there!

Good luck,

Your Aunty B
