One of Australia’s high profile investment accelerators, the Optus Innov8 Seed program, is seeking a new principal to join its leadership team.

The program provides funding, mentoring, three-months of free rent at tech co-working spaces in Sydney or Melbourne, as well as access to investor groups and the large Optus SingTel network.

A spokesperson for Optus says it’s seeking a new principal to step into Rebecca Hay’s role, who has decided to leave the role for family reasons.

“The Australian start-up ecosystem continues to grow and we are proud to play our part in helping to support the Australian start-up community through our investments, sponsorships and events,” the spokesperson says in a statement.

The new principal will join lead principals Peter Huynh and Alfred Lo.

Two companies have already been through the program, graduating in 2012. These were Venuemob, an app to compare and book function venues and 121cast, an online platform for personalising radio offerings.

“We are looking to take into account the learnings from our first year in market and to increase the speed of our activities. Details about the role can be found on our website,” the spokesperson says.
