The StartupSmart Awards are on again next year, celebrating and saluting Australia’s best entrepreneurial and start-up talent.

Starting up a new business is a big challenge and is something that deserves recognition and reward.

Entries are set to open in early January with a range of categories up for grabs, including Best Start-up, Best New Start-up, Best Start-up Idea and, for the first time, a People’s Choice award.

Other categories include Best Disrupter, Best Social Change Entrepreneur, Fastest Growing Start-up, Best Regional Start-up and a Start-up Hero award to the founder with the most inspiring story behind them.

Accountants and business advisors DFK Australia and New Zealand are the major sponsors again, with Small Business Victoria also supporting the awards, as well as MyCRA Lawyers and MyNetFone.

Prizes include a strategic review and planning workshop with experts from DFK, an advertising package from Private Media, the publisher of StartupSmart, worth $10,000, and entry in a yearbook of finalists to be shared with investors and industry.

Entries will close at midnight on February 21 with winners announced on March 26 at a celebration event in Melbourne.
