Hiring intentions within the IT industry are the fourth strongest in the country, behind construction, professional services and the non-for-profit sector, according to the findings of a recent Hudson survey.

The report found that hiring sentiment for the IT sector is at its highest for the fourth quarter, with 25.5% of all employers now expected to hire more permanent staff, an increase of 13.2% from the third quarter.

The survey comes after a similar report from recruiter Peoplebank, which also found IT companies have increased their hiring intentions since April.

Hudson said in its report that an increase in activity for the financial services sector has caused many companies to upgrade their hiring expectations.
