Ahead in the pollies: LinkedIn reveals most-viewed Australian members
Politicians, academics and the odd small business owner have topped the list for the most-viewed Aussies on LinkedIn, with not a business coach in sight.
Social media platform LinkedIn is pretty popular among Australian professionals, boasting more than 10 million members Down Under.
But whom among the hordes of consultants (ahem, sorry, ‘enablers’), ‘Linkedfluencers’ and everyone else on the platform is generating the biggest buzz?
The answer may surprise you. LinkedIn has today revealed the most viewed and engaged Australians in its digital ecosystem, and as it turns out, several pollies are among the cream of the crop.
New South Wales Liberal MP Victor Dominello and Queensland’s Minister for Innovation, Tourism and Industry, Kate Jones have won naming rights on LinkedIn’s inaugural list of 12 users, alongside a host of other frequent posters.
Interestingly, with the government, health and wellness, construction, higher education and hospital and healthcare sectors emerging as the fastest-growing industries on Aussie LinkedIn, there’s not a single coach, public relations guru or outright salesperson on the list.
A slew of academics also made the list, including University of Melbourne’s Uwe Aickelin, UNSW’s Kourosh Kalantar-Zadeh and Deakin’s Sandeep Reddy.
Small business owner Tracey Kitching, the founder of Tracey’s Wellness Mojo, is among the most influential profiles on the platform in Australia.
LinkedIn Australia’s managing director Matt Tindale says the diversity on the list is positive.
“It is great to see such diversity of industries and members in this year’s list. Many of the members featured are actively posting content about their work, asking for feedback from their community to help do their job better or engaging in conversations by sharing their perspectives,” Tindale said in a statement circulated Monday.
