The long-awaited Google Translate app has finally been adapted for the iPhone, and it’s worth checking out if you’re travelling around a lot.

The app is designed to help you translate two sides of a conversation. You speak into the app, (which accepts voice input for 15 languages), and that word or phrase is then translated into as many as 50 different languages.

When you have a phrase translated, you can actually have the phrase read back to you in 23 different languages.

While the Google Translate service has been available for awhile as a web app, the iPhone version brings some new features – such as the ability to make text fill the entire size of the screen so it’s easier to read. You can also view dictionary results for words.

The app is a must-have if you’re travelling in a foreign country. It’s available on the App Store now for free.
