The creators of the popular iPhone game Angry Birds, Rovio Mobile, have now called the game and its associated merchandise the fastest-growing consumer brand in history.

Senior vice president of brand advertising and analytics at Rovio, Wibe Wagemans, made the comments at the Mobile Future Forward conference in the United States.

 

“We are now the fastest-growing consumer brand in history,” he said.

The company has seen explosive growth. Its games have been downloaded millions of times on iOS and Android platforms, while its tie-in merchandise including more games, soft toys and accessories – even movies – have brought in millions.

Speaking to TechCrunch, the company said it is now selling one million Angry Birds soft toys every month.
