Telstra has released the first tablet computer to use its 4G LTE network, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 4G.
According to CRN, Telstra is making the device available for $720 outright or $20 per month on its 24 month consumer plans, but hasn’t yet unveiled its business plan pricing for the device.
The device features an 8.9 inch display, a relatively fast 1.5 GHz dual core processor, and Android 3.2 Gingerbread. Telstra are promising that an upgrade to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich in the future.
The news comes just days after competitor Vodafone announced that it was holding off on an LTE upgrade in favour of a further HSPA+ rollout.
