US District Judge Lucy Koh has set a December 6 court date to hear Apple’s request for a permanent injunction against at least eight Samsung smartphones.
According to MSNBC, a hearing had originally been scheduled for September 20, but that date will instead be used to hear a Samsung motion to dissolve a ban on Samsung’s Galaxy Tab 10.1 being sold in the US as the result of an earlier patent case between Apple and Samsung.
Judge Koh says the later date will allow attorneys from both companies ample opportunity to file complex legal and technical arguments with the court.
The news comes after Samsung lost a devastating $1.05 billion patent infringement lawsuit by Apple.
