Apple has announced that it will stop selling its Mac Pro desktop computers in Europe on March 1, and cease taking new orders on February 18, due to new European Union safety regulations.

According to MacWorld, a new amendment to the EU’s IEC 60950-1 safety regulation increases requirements around electrical port protection and the fan guards in computer systems.

While the Mac Pro previously complied with EU safety regulations, the product does not comply with the new amendment.

Apple says it considers the Mac Pro to be a very safe and reliable product, it has promised a new Pro product by the end of the year.
