How Taskforce Australia started

After a successful career as a V8 Supercar driver, Jason Bright founded Taskforce Australia in 2014. Its first goal was to connect tradies to jobs. Bright developed a job-scheduling program that streamlines the job-allocation process, while optimising customer choice. After a rocky start, Taskforce successfully pivoted, reconfiguring the platform to handle warranty and servicing tasks for major manufacturers such as Brilliant Lighting and Universal Fans.

Growth

Changes to the Residential Tenancies Act in Victoria in 2021 brought mandatory electrical, gas and smoke alarm checks for rental properties. Soon, the market surged with providers meeting this demand with inefficient, overpriced services. Taskforce took this opportunity to develop a best-practice model for these safety checks, mobilising its tradie network and aligning the required property inspections into a single annual visit. The result? Industry-best pricing through streamlined job scheduling and no compromise on quality. Taskforce had found its niche.

Where to next

Taskforce is targeting a 50%-60% compound annual growth rate for the next three years through self-funded organic growth. It also has a four-point agenda: help more social housing groups, share success with staff and customers through an equity plan, improve its tech platform by exploring AI, and the surgical execution of its existing organic growth strategies.
