The Australian sharemarket followed global bourses up today, on expectations the United States will post positive jobs growth figures tomorrow morning. It’s the seventh straight day of rises for the ASX200 – the longest winning streak since April 2011 (when the ASX200 rose for eight straight days)
The ASX200 gained 0.84% to 4489.8, up 2.45% for the week, while the broader All Ordinaries index added 0.80%.
The Australian dollar strengthened today, buying $US1.02645.
