Google is trialling a new email service called Inbox that integrates additional information from the web into a message inbox and has a range of features to help keep users organised.
Inbox highlights the key information from important emails without needing to open each message, and adds in additional useful information from the web that wasn’t in the original message.
Inbox also integrates a message folder system called Bundles, where similar emails are automatically gathered together, with users given the option of “teaching Inbox to adapt” to how they want their emails sorted.
It also includes a to-do list, called Reminders, where Inbox automatically gathers information from the web (called Assists) for each item on a to-do list.
Users can also set a message or reminder to snooze until a particular time when it will reappear in their inbox.
The invitation-only service will initially be available for Android, iOS and the web, with interested users asked to request an invite by emailing inbox@google.com.
