Facebook is rolling out an app that will let advertisers manage their Facebook ads from their mobile phone.
Ad Manager will allow business to track ad performance, create ads, edit existing ads and edit ad budgets and schedules, all from their mobile device.
The app will be available for iOS in Australia in the next few weeks and Apple says it is building Ads Manager for Android, which it expects to launch later this year.
The Ad Manager app comes as the social network announced it now has more than 2 million active advertisers using the platform, a half a million jump in the last six months.
Facebook used the milestone to highlight Australian businesses “success stories” achieved through Facebook advertising campaigns.
One of these businesses was online grocery delivery service Grocery Butler, which claims it achieved 900 franchise registrations from a four-week Facebook campaign targeted at people who were interested in entrepreneurship, small businesses, franchising opportunities and grocery shopping.
But the success of Facebook’s advertising comes at an extra cost to SMEs.
The social media giant last August revealed the average price per ad on its site increased by 123% in a quarter, when compared to the previous corresponding period.
