A new innovation challenge with a $100,000 prize is looking for entrepreneurs who’ve taken the first step towards turning their idea into reality.

Run by creative agency Clemenger BBDO Melbourne, the challenge will involve a pitch competition at this year’s Pause Fest, with the winner receiving $100,000 worth of services from the agency and the opportunity to potentially partner with its range of clients, including Carlton United Brewery, Australia Post, NAB and Mercedes Benz.

The agency is on the hunt for individuals who are already on the way to transforming an idea into a startup, Clemenger BBDO digital creative director Ben Keenan says.

“We’re seeking people who have taken the first step,” Keenan tells StartupSmart.

“A lot of people have ideas that are just in their heads or on a bit of paper. We’re looking to collaborate with people who have something and have taken that first step.”

“We want to take that IP and bring it one step closer to reality.”

Keenan says that although the competition will be in the style of Dragon’s Den and Shark Tank, it’ll be a much friendly and inclusive environment.

“We’re looking to create a forum where we could collaborate with these people that have amazing ideas and help them commercialise the value of them,” he says.

The winner will receive strategic help, creative assistance, branding and marketing from the agency.

It’s not the first time Clemenger has teamed up with Pause Fest after running a competition with the TAC last year.

“We’re big fans of Pause Fest and what they do and how they’re connecting the business, trade and tech world,” Keenan says.

“It’s full of people who are curious and interested in the future of business and tech.”

Applications for the Clemenger Creative Incubator are now open, and the presentations will be taking place on February 11 and 12.
