I stopped doing business plans “the old way” in 2003 when I developed a value proposition-centric methodology. Now I can put a summary of a whole business plan on a single page with the value at the focus (see here for more details).

Clients love it, because it’s so easy for them to communicate to their people. It puts everyone onto the same (one) page!
