Many tech pundits will know Firefox 4 was released last month, and has been given a good review by thousands of users already. But many don’t know about one under-used feature called Sync, which allows users to share preferences and settings between Firefox on a Mac and PC.
To set the system up, install Firefox 4 on both your Mac device and PC, then go to “Tools”, scroll down to “Set Up Sync”. When the Sync screen comes up, you’ll be asked if you already have a new account. If not, create one, but if you do, select “I already have a Firefox Sync Account”.
You’ll then be asked to “Add a Device”. Click on the option that says, “I don’t have the device with me”. You’ll then be asked to enter some information including your email and password, along with a “Sync Key” – this is the key that you find on your other machine in the “Tools” and then “Options” menu.
After that, follow the prompts. Go to “Tools” and then press “Sync Now” – everything should be synced up between your devices.
