Australian stocks fall after uncertain leads from Wall Street: Afternoon market insights

The Australian sharemarket lost half a percent today, after Wall Street ended last week just in the red. At 2pm the ASX200 gave up 0.44% to 4389.1, while the broader All Ordinaries lost 0.42% to 4412.0. The Australian dollar fell on renewed demand for the $US, buying $US1.0425.
