Gina Rinehart has again topped Forbes Asia‘s annual rich list, despite her wealth declining with global iron ore prices.
Rinehart’s wealth stood at $US17 billion, down nearly one billion dollars from her figure last year.
Her number one spot wasn’t in doubt though, with Glencore CEO Ivan Glasenberg, second on the list, far behind at $US6.7 billion.
Coming third was James Packer, the youngest person on the list, who added $US1.5 billion to his fortune in 2012. He sits just behind Glasenberg on $US6 billion.
The second-oldest person on the list was also one of the big movers. Len Ainsworth’s poker machine empire quadrupled in value in 2012, taking his personal wealth to $1.03 billion. He hasn’t been on the list since 2010, but now he’s in 22nd spot.
