Local sharemarket continues yesterday’s gains: Afternoon market insights

The Australian sharemarket rose today despite losses on Wall Street overnight. At 2.30pm the ASX200 rose 1.01% to 4146.4, while the broader All Ordinaries index grew 0.91% to 4180.7. The Australian dollar rallied upon the release of the RBA minutes, which showed the bank thinks inflation remains contained. It’s buying $US1.03075.
