Stocks sink despite Wall Street gains: Afternoon market insights

The Australian sharemarket traded into the red today, despite small increases on global sharemarkets overnight. At 2.10pm, the ASX200 dropped 0.38% to 4493.4, while the broader All Ordinaries index lost 0.37% to 4516.8. The Australian dollar neared $US1.04 earlier today, but traded down to $US1.03515 at 2pm.

The Australian sharemarket traded into the red today, despite small increases on global sharemarkets overnight.

At 2.10pm, the ASX200 dropped 0.38% to 4493.4, while the broader All Ordinaries index lost 0.37% to 4516.8.

The Australian dollar neared $US1.04 earlier today, but traded down to $US1.03515 at 2pm.
