Apple is planning to build a $2 billion global command centre in Arizona in order to keep up with cloud and data management requirements.
The facility will employ 150 full-time staff and will host the company’s global data operations, according to TechCrunch.
Last week Apple announced a record $18 billion profit in its first quarter results, the biggest quarterly results for any company on record.
Apttus raises $41 million in Series B
Contract management software provider Apttus has raised $41 million in Series B funding following a $37 million cash injection in September last year.
The latest round was led by Salesforce Ventures.
Co-founder and chief executive Kirk Krappe said in a statement the company’s success has gone beyond “all of our initial expectations”.
“As we continue on this path, growing and innovating alongside strategic partners and investors that share our values is the key to our future success.”
Super Bowl 2015 sees record social media engagement
Social media networks such as Facebook, Twitter and YouTube have seen record levels of engagement with the Super Bowl.
TechCrunch reports 265 million people wrote posts, commented or liked a status relating to the National Football League’s annual championship game.
Meanwhile 28.4 million tweets about the Super Bowl were sent yesterday, up from 24.9 million the previous year.
