A new version of Quicken, a software program that allows users to manage their personal and business-related finances, has now been developed for the iPhone and second-generation iPod Touch.

Developer Intuit says that the new version allows users to “easily manage their money on-the-go with the only app that gives them a forward looking view into dollars coming in versus bills they have yet to pay – enabling them to make intelligent real-time spending decisions.”

The new application can show normal budget features, as well as current bank allowances, to determine if proposed purchases can be covered.

Purchases are then categorised instantly, while nearby ATMs can be found using the phone’s GPS capabilities – and those that belong to your own bank.

But bad news for Australian users – the app only works in the US, with no announcements made on whether a local version will be made.
