Canadian tech firm Research In Motion is set to release another touch-screen BlackBerry following the release of its successful BlackBerry Storm product, chief executive Jim Balsillie has announced.

During a presentation to investors, Balsillie said that the company is already working on a product after the Storm’s strong sales, while reports suggest it will include wi-fi capability, unlike the original model.

The first Storm device was marketed as a rival to the iPhone 3G, but only recorded about one million sales in three months.

The new device will include everything from the first device, including the “SurePress” technology, which requires users to physically push on the screen to select an icon.

The new market will also be compatible with the company’s application store, set up to rival the popular Apple App Store for the iPhone and iPod Touch devices.
