Bigger battery
With any luck, the rumour of a bigger battery is true. That is, as long as being bigger means it will last longer without a recharge. The bigger battery could be the reason the NFC chip will not fit. You may have really been hoping for NFC, but you should consider longer battery life to be a fair trade-off.
Smaller SIM card
The new SIM card is considered to be a Nano-SIM. Rumour has it the new iPod will also feature this tiny little controller. Hopefully, this will not be a problem for all the different carriers.
Connections and docking
This rumour will not please anyone. While you may have complained about the 30-pin connector on Apple products, if you already have a dock that supports this, you may be even more upset about the switch to an 8-pin, or maybe it will be a 9-pin, or maybe even a 19-pin connector on all new devices. This means you will need a new phone charger too. The connector will most likely be different; just which type is the question.
It will be curved to fit your hand
The idea that the new iPhone will be curved to fit more comfortably in your hand seems to be a bit far-fetched. Apple may make the device taller, thinner and narrower, but being curved would be a big change in the overall appearance and it has always made subtle changes.
Fast and powerful
Latest rumours have an A6 CPU with 4G LTE wireless. You will be able to get on the internet and download information or media at a rate your desktop computer may envy.
Casing
This phone will not be wrapped in a thick glass that shatters easily. The back will be made of metal; the type of metal remains unclear. It will only be available in black. It will look like a new iPhone; no one is going to confuse it with older models.
While no one is certain exactly what the iPhone 5 is going to look like, you can be almost positive it is going to look and perform better than any of the previous models. Well, maybe anyway, you will just have to wait and see for yourself.
