The groups will meet with senior bureaucrats and the Federal and NSW governments as well and private sector industry leaders.
Michael McLeod, chief executive of Aboriginal business Message Stick, told The Australian Financial Review that the local indigenous business people hope to follow the NMDSC model, under which indigenous businesses would receive accreditation from an Australian supplier diversity council.
McLeod says the group is applying for a $3 million one-off grant to fund the establishment of the council.
