A new website has been created to help bring together web services professionals who are prepared to work together on projects for an equity share in the final online product.
Targeted at web designers, developers and marketers, WebEquity.com.au is designed to help online entrepreneurs with innovative ideas to overcome the start-up funding squeeze.
Instead of having to come up with large amounts of cash to hire staff to get a website off the ground, entrepreneurs can use the site to form partnerships with the talent they need in exchange for a share in the proceeds.
Interested folk with web-relevant skills can also establish a portfolio on the site to make themselves known to business builders that may have use for their skills.
Founder Paul Middleton says the idea was born out of frustration at not being able to get his own projects off the ground.
“Registering with WebEquity.com.au will mean I finally get some of my projects off the ground, and gives me access to specialist skills to ensure a professional result… 10% of something is better than 100% of nothing,” Middleton says.
