About 20% of mobile users want to see their handsets become totally wireless for everyday use including data transfers and recharges, according to the findings of a Nokia survey.
The study, designed by the Finnish handset manufacturer, was created to determine what customers want to see in future models.
The survey also found that 19% of respondents wanted “green battery power” the most, with 16% wanting “common awareness”, hinting at universal docks and features between companies.
“Despite the somewhat ambiguous title, the ambition is quite clear. With Nokia’s drive towards openness and common standards continuing unabated, it’s no surprise to see this topic high on the list,” Nokia said in a statement.
Following the top three were biometric sensors at 15%, and mobile conferencing and projects wanted most by 12%.
