Oreo
Fresh from its television ad, Oreo got cracking with this picture during the blackout. It was retweeted tens of thousands of times – which means one of the best marketing efforts of the day didn’t even cost a cent.
Tide
Washing detergent Tide did the same thing – but like Oreo, was fast enough to make an impact.
Calvin Klein
The fashion brand utilised the new Twitter video service, Vine, to send out some blackout-related tweets as quickly as they could. Speed was key yesterday, and Calvin Klein managed to get even a mere mention of the blackout right away.
