The MR Roads success story began with a casual conversation between two industry veterans, Mikus and Rolph. With years of experience in the asphalt industry, Mikus and Rolph recognised a unique opportunity to disrupt the status quo and deliver better solutions. Mikus, who had previously worked in senior management positions within the industry, and Rolph, the owner of Platinum Tippers, asphalt cartage, and labour hire business, joined forces in November 2021. Little did they know that this partnership would set the stage for a remarkable journey.

Rolph, Co-founder and co-CEO of MR Roads, reflects on their early days, saying, “We didn’t want to wait for the established players in the industry to bring better solutions; we wanted to create the solutions ourselves.” This drive to innovate and create genuine change became the driving force behind MR Roads’ rapid ascent.

Over the next five years, MR Roads is set to expand South East Queensland operations and establish a national presence, with a clear vision of becoming a household name in road infrastructure.

“We see the potential for MR Roads to become a major contributor to the Australian construction industry, and right now, the sky’s the limit,” Mikus reflects. Rolph adds, “Between now and then, we’ll be looking to scale the business by adding a new asphalt plant, expand our crew and cartage fleet, and branch out into civil projects, just to name a few.”
