Dear Aunty B,
I have had the day from hell. This morning I went to see a client expecting to renew a contract and they fired me because of a huge mistake by one of my (usually) best staff.
I came back to find a resignation on my desk from another key staff member.
Then, when I went out to lunch, I snapped my heel off in a gutter grid, limped to my favorite shoe shop where I can always get a gorgeous pair of new shoes for cheaper than a shrink, only to find it empty and a for lease sign on the window!

Dear JT,
There are days when it feels like the end of the world. And the triple whammy of client, employee and shop does sound up there. But this is only temporary. It is only today. What you have to do is peer into the future. As hard as you can.
You will get other clients, you will hire another employee and you will find a new shoe shop. And won’t that be fun. So go home and have a nice glass of wine. Try not to waste energy on feeling so bad when you know it will pass.
Remember, the business is not failing and your health is intact. Even when you struggle, life goes on. So look beyond this bottleneck and focus on where you are going. Then take one step at a time.
Good luck and happy shoe shopping,
Your Aunty B
