I’m an entrepreneur, but I am stuck in a dead-end job. Help!

I took a government job when my business was affected by the GFC. Now I find the money is okay but the bureaucracy is killing me. What should I do?

Dear Paul,

Well, if you had half a brain you would have been sitting in your cushy office working on business plans for the past few years between coffee breaks. Of course, the bureaucracy is killing you and it is not going to get any better. Now is the perfect time to be launching your new business. The year ahead is looking good.

You will have had plenty of time to reflect on where you went wrong last time. Make sure this time around that you have clearly defined your niche and that market demand for your services is picking up. Start to contact old clients and talk to them about their needs. You, my friend, just need a shove because you are ready to jump.

So go for it! There could not be a better time.
