Linktree users can now launch e-commerce storefronts directly from the platform, as part of a new partnership between the fast-growing social media startup and Shopify.
Launching today, the Stores on Linktree feature will be available for free to all Linktree users, who will be able to showcase products of their choice by directly embedding them on their Linktree account on Instagram.
Users will be able to feature six products at a time and add multiple links for different collections or stores, as well as live syncing their Shopify collections onto Linktree.
In a statement, Linktree said the new feature is part of its focus on offering creators and businesses more ways to monetise their social media profiles, particularly in the lead up to Christmas.
Adding a Shopify storefront to their Linktree will allow businesses to “boost discovery of their latest collections”, said the company, while also giving Linktree users easy access to Shopify’s e-commerce platform.
Founded by brothers Alex and Anthony Zaccaria and Nick Humphreys in 2016, Linktree provides a way to share multiple links in an Instagram biography by just posting one link.
The startup has grown rapidly in the time since and raised millions in venture capital. It now has a global user base of 18 million, up from 12 million in April this year.
The platform launched its Commerce Links function in March, which allows Linktree users to take payments directly on the platform, and chief executive Alex Zaccaria says the startup plans to continue adding shopping features by integrating with “more platforms creators rely on to monetise and run their online businesses”.
