How SHE-com started
With all the troubles that 2020 brought, Lisa Jones could have easily sat back and enjoyed the fruits of her labour. She had, after all, successfully built and exited the world’s greenest nappies and wipes brand. But she knew her experience in the eco-product industry was too valuable to keep to herself.
Eager to support other women entrepreneurs in their business growth, she started mentoring. When that initiative swiftly gained momentum, attracting a growing community of women seeking her guidance, SHE-com’s journey truly began in earnest.
Growth
Jones’ personal growth journey has been marked by challenges, including leaving an abusive marriage, exiting her own brand and the subsequent recovery. Building SHE-com came with its own set of obstacles too, from managing cash flow to rapid team expansion without adequate systems and processes.
But overcoming trials and reaching the summit is an inherent skill of Jones. SHE-com now boasts a team of 22, serving a community of more than 5500 female brand owners. Its mission revolves around education, inspiration and celebration, bringing women together through events, conferences, retreats, awards and coaching programs.
Where to next
SHE-com is on the cusp of serious growth. Jones and her team are targeting more than $3 million in revenue for the current fiscal year and setting a $6 million revenue goal for the next. Its partnership ecosystem is also expanding, with collaborations in progress with industry giants like American Express, Amazon and Shopify.
In addition to financial objectives, Jones says her overarching goal for SHE-com is to empower more than 50,000 women globally by 2026.
SHE-com also won The Community Award at The Smart50 Awards 2023.
