And while Gmail is one of the most secure email solutions around, Google is quick to remind users that using a two-step authentication procedure goes a long way in protecting your account from thieves.

 

To introduce two-step authentication, visit this page. Under the security banner, click on “using two-step verification”.

 

The site will ask you to log in to your Google account, and the procedure will start. You’ll need to receive a text message in order to proceed, and the whole process Google says takes about a quarter of an hour.
