A long car ride can get pretty uncomfortable pretty quickly. For the most part, you can’t stretch your legs and you sit constrained behind a seatbelt.
However, a new device is being launched with women’s comfort in mind. Drive ‘n Comfort is a unique device, pinching the seatbelt strap at the centre of the chest to take the pressure off.
It takes only a second to put on and is totally adjustable. There’s no more rubbing, flattening or irritation while driving, which means no more temptation to drive without a seatbelt.
The ‘pincher’ is connected to a reel which attaches to the seatbelt buckle, so the pincher is easily at-hand when the seatbelt is buckled up.
When you’re ready to hop out of the car, simply pull the pincher off. It will automatically retract to the reel and the seatbelt will retract easily with nothing bulky to get in the way.
In the event of a crash, the pincher will pop free and retract immediately to the reel so the seatbelt can be in its full, flat position.
The same device could be introduced on airplanes – perfect for long-haul flights. They would also be ideal in limousines, particularly to minimise rubbing against delicate ball gowns and freshly ironed suits.
But why end there? A smart start-up could look at other driver discomforts and annoyances and come up with a range of products to remedy these irritations.
