A restaurant in Dubai has created the perfect gadget for lazy uni students with the munchies – a fridge magnet that orders your favourite pizza.
The restaurant, Red Tomato, created the device to reward its VIP customers.
Whenever they crave a pizza, they walk to the fridge, push a button on the magnet and it links with the Bluetooth on their mobile phone to place an order.
People register online to customise the pizza, although there is a built-in preset order, based on previous habits. The restaurant has already installed a second phone line to cope with demand.
As food businesses struggle to stand out in an increasingly mobile market, entrepreneurs have an opportunity to appeal to local operators and develop new ways to improve their operations.
Why not take inspiration from Red Tomato and create something similar here? You could pitch the idea to a number of different food chains.
