Time is rapidly running out for entrepreneurs wishing to participate in a national startup survey, with entries for this year’s survey closing at the end of February 1.
The survey is being run by Murray Hurps with research/design help from Richard Kroon, along with statistical and methodological help from Monica Wulff and Ryan Defina.
Hurps told StartupSmart the results help show government, investors and the media what’s really happening in the Australian startup scene.
“The Australian government has a strong interest in supporting the high growth startup industry, but they need reliable numbers to inform their decisions. We’ve invested at least $100,000 of time and money into Startup Muster, with a goal of providing a complete yearly snapshot of the industry with careful and documented methodology.
“Participants are also given the option to provide their response to the Australian Bureau of Statistics for further investigation, which so far 98% of people have chosen to do.
“Everyone in the Australian startup ecosystem can see the rapid growth happening around them, and the opportunities being created for jobs, exports and investments. Taking part in Startup Muster will allow us to measure this, and clearly identify what can be done to help the industry.”
