Anyone who has ever worked in retail knows the pain of entering the New Year with big piles of stock that just haven’t sold by the end of December.

But it’s not just retailers that feel this pain – anyone who sells products of any type knows that getting caught with stock can be dangerous. The older it gets, the harder it gets to sell and the more money you will eventually lose on it.

If you’re sitting here in the last selling week of the year and getting worried about stock, it’s time to act. Here are a few ideas:

  • Call some big customers and do a bulk discount. Tell them how good it will feel to enter the New Year with some cheap stock in their warehouse.
  • Hold a lightning sale. Two days, never-to-be-repeated prices.
  • Do a special deal for social media followers.
  • Hold a special payment terms sale for really trusted customers. Buy now, pay later.

I know it’s quiet out there, but how about a last roll of the sales dice?

Get it done – today!
