Newly launched platform OzFounded is to put Australian start-ups on the map – quite literally – in a bid to facilitate networking among entrepreneurs and technology companies.
OzFounded, led by Shaun Campbell, launched late last month. Its aim is to create a map of the Australian start-up community for the benefit of all those in it.
“OzFounded connects start-ups and investors, incubators, co-working spaces and each other. There are 100-plus start-ups and related providers listed so far,” Campbell says.
“The main aim of the project is to foster a greater sense of community, and to facilitate networking amongst entrepreneurs and tech companies who may be unaware of useful contacts or services just around the corner.”
Campbell is encouraging start-ups to add their venture to the map, which currently looks like this:
OzFounded isn’t the first organisation to try and map out the start-up scene in Australia.
Technology venture company BlueChilli has created a diagram of the leading Sydney players, laid out in the same style as a metropolitan train network map:
Adelaide-based co-working space The Majoran Distillery is also mapping out the city’s start-up scene:
