If you are feeling a little flat as the working week comes to an end, it’s time to find a way to re-energise and get your excitement levels up.

How to do it? By doing more work, of course!

Well, not necessarily more work, but the right type of work.

Sit down and think about all the different things you do during the day. You’ll quickly figure out there are some jobs that give you energy and other tasks that tend to sap your energy.

For me, I always feel refreshed after seeing clients and doing sales work. There’s something about the adrenalin of being out there close to the money that really gets me going.

I also get energy from talking to our key stakeholders (such as investors and industry groups), meeting with suppliers and talking with my board.

The things that sap my energy include meetings I don’t need to attend. They’re the bane of my existence, really.

So if you are starting to feel burned out, take a break, take some time to clear your head and spend some quality time focusing on the tasks that give you energy.

Get it done – today!
