Battery
A more powerful phone requires a more powerful battery, so it’s safe to assume there’ll be at least some improvement here – whether it’s a significant boost will remain to be seen.
4G
It’s definitely looking like Apple will give the iPhone a 4G boost. It introduced LTE connectivity for the first time earlier this year with the new iPad, so it only makes sense it’ll do so for the iPhone as well – especially considering there are already plenty of smartphones available in the United States that can connect to 4G networks.
There’s also a rumour that the 4G will be able to work on global networks, not just those in the US. That will make local telcos’ investment in 4G worth the effort.
Bigger, thinner screen
This is another rumour almost guaranteed. Leaks show a longer screen at four-inches. Even if there were no leaks, Apple would have had to make this move eventually given the shift to larger-sized smartphones.
NFC
There have been rumours of Apple moving into NFC (near field communications) for a while now, but it’s probably too early to say anything about NFC just yet. Although a rumour here or there suggests the iPhone 5 will carry an NFC chip, a big move like this would probably have more noise surrounding it.
New earbuds
Again, this is another rumour that may or may not turn out to be true. But there have been a couple of leaks surrounding newly sized earbuds, and this could be something new Apple debuts tomorrow.
Mini iPad
It definitely looks like the mini iPad is coming. But a few rumours have been speculating that Apple won’t actually announce it, but hold a separate event next month. It makes sense. Apple wouldn’t want to mix its two biggest products and possibly have one cannabilise the other.
It’s not likely we’ll see a mini iPad tomorrow. You’ll have to wait for next month for that.
Apple TV
The rumours surrounding the Apple TV have quietened down lately, mostly because of the assumed struggle Apple is having in getting content providers on board. The alternative theory is that it’ll start ramping up Apple TV features instead of creating a full-blown set.
That may be the company’s strategy, but we won’t see it tomorrow. If we’re going to see any new information on the Apple TV, it’ll likely to be pushed to an event next month where the mini iPad will be revealed.
