Tech giant Apple is apparently investigating a number of complaints regarding the battery life in iPhones after the upgrade to OS 3.1 has left some users with a faster burning battery.

While the software update has added some new features such as a genius feature for apps, more support for Exchange servers and access to a ringtone store, several users on the Apple support forums have claimed more problems than solutions.

AppleCare technicians have apparently sent some follow-up questions to a number of iPhone users who posted on the forums.

“My battery life has been cut in half,” wrote “SafeData1” on the support forums. “I have tried the restore and would like to go back to 3.0 until Apple resolves problem.”

Some users have also complained about problems when trying to log into an Exchange 2007 server, while others have pointed out slower performance as well as issues with podcast playback.
