Microsoft’s Bing search engine has continued to gain market share during August, according to new figures from comScore.
The firm’s numbers show Bing gained 0.4% share during the month of August to account for 9.3% of all search queries in the US. Additionally, Google’s share reduced 0.1% to 64.6%, while Yahoo remained steady at just 19.3%.
This means that Bing has gained about 0.5% market share per month for the past quarter since its release in late May. Comparatively, Yahoo’s market share is down by 0.8% in the same period.
The figures also mean that Bing actually grew faster than Google for the first time, with a 31.9% annual increase in search queries, compared to just 21.6% for Google and 16.8% for Yahoo.
