Tech giant Apple has filed a patent infringement lawsuit against Media Solutions Holdings due to allegations it has designed and sold knock-off Apple products.

The company complains the California-based manufacturer sells “various consumer electronic accessories at retail, including knock-off power adapters for use with genuine Apple portable computers.”

“Through various websites and otherwise, the defendants market these knock-off power adapters for use with Apple portable computers, such as the MacBook.”

The tech giant says the adapters sold through the site violate a power adapter patent filed in 2003, covering the design of its adapters.

However, this case is unusual as Apple is acting as the plaintiff – out of the past 15 lawsuits involving Apple over the past year, it has acted as the defendant.
