Handset manufacturer Nokia has announced its third annual competition for app developers to create new and innovative programs for handheld devices.
The Calling All Innovators competition has four categories – eco/being green, productivity, love improvement and entertainment.
The competition will “assess any entry’s ability to raise the standard of living of the target customer in an obvious and undeniable manner”, along with the viability of an accompanying business plan.
All finalists will be able to travel to San Francisco to pitch their app to the judging panel, with the winner to receive a $US1 million investment award, along with business guidance from Nokia. If a software developer wins the prize, it will win the chance to distribute the app through the company’s OVI Store.
