Chinese manufacturing group Foxconn will reportedly move parts of its production, specifically the areas dealing with Apple products, to different parts of the country to combat costs.

The company has been in the middle of controversy for months, with reports of suicides and poor working conditions prompting an investigation from Apple itself.

The Financial Times has reported that Foxconn will move some of its manufacturing efforts to the Tianjin and central Henan province.

According to the China Daily, the company will also improve its “investment and product portfolio”. It is also understood that the company’s plan to pass on some high manufacturing costs was not looked on well by Apple.
