Apple will release the new iPhone iOS 4.1 software today, with iPhone and iPod Touch users able to download the update through iTunes.
The update, which was announced last week at Apple’s “special event”, will introduce a number of features to the iPhone’s camera and social networking features.
The iOS 4.1 update will introduce HDR photography, allowing users to take a series of pictures culminated into a single photograph that provides more detail in under-exposed areas.
The Apple Game Centre will also be made available for users. This online network will allow users to connect and play games, along with sharing scores and results on ladders. Some companies, including Melbourne’s Firemint, have said they are already adapting their games for the network.
The update is also expected to fix some issues with iPhone 3G. Some users have reported the iOS 4.0 is running extremely slowly, and lags when performing simple tasks.
